Masakini had just finished the 24 hour theatre project where about 44 young and experienced theatre enthusiasts took part. It was really heartening to watch people who have just met sit down to discuss, argue, lose a little bit of their cool while trying to devise a 10 minute play!
The culmination of the whole exercise was Sunday night's show open to the public..and they loved it!
Shall we do it again? What say you all out there?
I would like to do so if only the Ministry would support us or some kind corporation for that matter.
We are hoping also to print the best plays as one-acters and later on develop them with the writer into full length plays to be produced in the near future. How about that?
So those who took part and had a good time, tell your friends about it and do look out on our website:www.masakinitheatre.com.my...who knows we will be able to do another one this December!!

HEy MasaKini!
Alice here!It looks like,im the first to drop comment here!
anyway, readers~Im one of the 44 people who took part in the 24 hour event few weeks ago?
Like what the masakini said, it is true. I had so much fun and also gain alot of new experiences including new friends.
All i can say is that, I am thankful and again really enjoyed
every moment. first we didnt know one another at all. I was extremely nervous back then!the lady said "why are so serious!just enjoy it!"(i forgotten the name~sorry!;p)
Then we were divided into many teams and had to discuss within the group about the play, the moment where I and my other 3 actors(Nadia,Alwin,George) had to practise our script written by Mr Francis!
directed by Sharon!(MANY times)
although it was such a short time but it was indeed a memorable one.
It doesnt only leave as a memory including the Hangtuah awards?haha..!
but it does really increases my personal confidence!!
haha..!!
So if you guys have another round!and i am able to make it..definitely count me in!;p
those out there! come and join!~

All the best Masakini!
Hi hi hi!!..i've just gotten back to blogging.Used to want to blog, but didn't have the time..chance..bla bla bla..anyway..its so cool that this blog was set up.
I'm certainly going to look forward to reading all the updates about Masakini theatre here.
Before that,I'm Ayunni. The girl who played Eve, in the first performance..the group that didn't get anything cos our play was tooo..abstract.Hahahahaha..that was a bit sad..but still..I came for the FUN, and I certainly had LOTS of IT!
The 24 hour theatre really kind of reaffirms my belief on my LOVE for theatre. I enjoyed it immensely and would certainly love to be a part of such production again.
The idea of developing the 10minute plays into a full length one is not bad either.I surely would love to see the development.
I think that projects such as this 24-hour theatre really2 help us 'amateurs' to try out and be involved in theatre cos it only takes up 24-hours of our time, which is MOST importantly..during the WEEKEND.
I soooo..want to be in plays again..but commitment to work makes it a bit hard.BUT STILL, I'm gonna pursue the upcoming chances to be in more plays!
I LOVE THEATRE!!
my blog is new..and may be a bit 'incomprehensible'<---is that correct?

I'm baaaacckk... ;) just one question..i heard that there is a CD of the 24-hour theatre's performances...is it ready?how do i get it?
thanks..in advance~
Yay Masakini!
The 24-hour project was a real awesome experience. Through the event I learned my own stand in scriptwriting - I was afraid at first but now I know, I can write! I also got to meet a lot of people, made new friends, and got to come out of that little box that keeps me sedated most of the time.
The 24-hour project allowed me to experience the feel of working in a theatre - the stage, the tiredness, the butterflies in the stomach, the excitement, the craziness - and to have done it all in 24 hours... I didn't know 24 hours could do so much to a person's life, mine as proof.
I really, really enjoyed myself, and if there would be another 24-hour theatre project, I'm definitely in!
Kudos to masakini for coming up with such a project and giving us newbies (especially us who are still studying) a chance to experience what could be in our future. Now I am very sure that I am on the right track, as I've always loved writing and took chances by asking my parents to fully sponsor my studies so I could study what I wanted to. With this, I can assure them that their support and sacrifices for me are not wasted! Thanks to mum and dad, and thanks to masakini!
With very much love from

After a 2 years of directing high school theater and then a further 2 year hiatus from the stage, I decided to take a change and explore my acting side.
I have to say through Masakini's efforts I was fortunate enough to have Nell Ng as my director, Gheeta as my script writer as well as a lovely cast of Desiree and Soon Heng to aid me in that change. Boy oh boy it was an enthrilling ride!
I learn so much in such a short space of time via the amazing chance to work with people who are well versed in the field of theater. Apart from the obvious stress of memorizing my goddamn lines and endless heart pumping rehearsals over a 12 hour period nonstop, it had to be the most complete piece I have ever performed.
Great props to Masakini for organizing this great event! If there is another in December you can count on me being back! :D
Cheers!
Brad!
i am so frustrated that i was sick on that weekend and i could not join the project though i have registered. :(
